Using Gas Saving Products to Save Money on Gas

With the rising cost of gas prices, everyone wants to save as much money at the gas pump as they possibly can. You may not be able to control the price of gas, but you can change certain habits and follow some basic guidelines to help you save as much money as possible.Although the studies are still inconclusive, you might want to consider using gas saving products to save you money at the gas pump. The following products have been tested by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA):

1. Air Bleed Devices.

These types of devices are designed to bleed air into the carburetor and are generally installed in your vehicle in the Positive Crankcase Ventilation line.

- Fuel Max
- Aquablast Wyman Valve Air Bleed
- Gas Saving Device
- Grancor Air Computer

2. Vapor Bleed Devices.

These devices are related to the air bleed device but in this case induced air is forced through a container that contains a mixture of water and antifreeze. This device is usually installed in the engine compartment.

- Econo-Mist Vacuum Vapor Injection System
- Mark II Vapor Injection System
- Turbo Vapor Injection System
- Atomized Vapor Injector

3. Liquid Injection.

These types of fuel saving products add liquid to the air and fuel intake system of your car instead of into the combustion chamber of your engine.

Special Finance Auto Loans

So,You have decided to take the plunge and buy high end for wheeler for yourself. You have a problem at hand, though - you do not have enough money. Do not despair. These days you can get plenty of financing offers, popularly described as zero percent finance for cars. What is it exactly and waht is in it for you?

Offers

Auto Dealers show off their sales plans in the garb of Easy Auto Loans. They will have outlined a profile of the prospective customer. It requires only common sense to realise that good credit standing is a must to qualify. SO, normally such offer will be made to existing customers. New customers would be judged for credit background on several parameters like, income, location of the customer, employment or business status, or even the assets that the customers own. For obvious reasons, you will be offered a shorter credit term, often below 2 years. It will result in higher EMIs - equated monthly installments.

Conditions

EMIs always change in inverse proportion to duration of the loan - shorter the term of credit, the higher the amounts payable per month and the longer credit period, the smaller amount to be paid per month. Incidentally, if you opt for a longer duration you will end up paying more amount simply because interest rate is induced for a long period of time. You will find that you will have paid more than 20 times the retail price. Also, failure to pay the monthly payables of the zero percent credit term will attract penal payments in the form of higher interest. If that be the case, you will actually end up paying higher than the amount paid under zero percent because of the interest and other penalty charges. To top it all, cost of the car itself is more than the one for cash payment. For example in a zero percent scenario, the car is offered at say $100,000 on display for 2 years to pay having a monthly payable amount of $4,166. The $100,000 price is actually still higher than the actual value of the car. The car dealers usually know that the car value is only say $70,000 but if offered at zero percent credit, they would price it at $100,000.

Remarks

The zero percent finance car is a good marketing strategy for the car dealer. It is also beneficial for the customer who can afford it. Whether you derive any gains from a Zero Percent Finance Car, entirely depends on how you service the loan. Car dealers will almost always earn good business from this marketing strategy. It always better than paying longer credit period. And it will definitely help those who can afford the terms.

Volkswagen, DaimlerChrysler Hook Up!

Filed under: Cars, Trucks, USVs @ 12:27 pm

Volkswagen and DaimlerChrysler are getting hitched. Well, sort of. The two predominately German automakers are not merging, but are in the process of exploring building products for one another. What is coming? Who gets what vehicle? What can all this mean? Read on and I will tell you.

It is official: Volkswagen has decided not to import its microbus “minivan” to the American market. Citing conversion costs and exchange rate differences, VW has elected instead to start selling its own version of Chrysler’s popular minivans in the US. Based on the Chrysler Voyager, the new VW minivan has yet to be named but it will be nothing more than a rebadged Voyager. The minivan will fill a glaring hole in the VW line up and keep current owners from departing the company in search of a larger people mover.

DaimlerChrysler [DCX] will benefit by maxing out production of its minivan fleet. In addition, DCX is also studying importing rebadged versions of VW’s popular compact Polo to fill a glaring gap in its own line up. The tiny Polo will likely be sold as a Dodge and be the entry level vehicle just below the soon-to-be-released Caliber, a replacement for the Neon. Details are currently sketchy, but the new “Polo” could arrive as a 2007 model.

Yes, VW and DCX aren’t getting married, but the two automakers appear to be in the fortunate position to help each other out to the benefit of both. Now, let’s just see how consumers react to the rebadged products!

Salvage me a car motor

When it comes to car maintenance I am no spring chicken - I understood my car 20 years ago but now there is so much technology under the bonnet that knowing your ESP unit from your spark box is not easy. A guide to salvage categories is helpful though if you are looking for a replacement motor for your motor - It has saved me a grand or so over this weekend - based on the garages charge against sourcing a replacement used car part from a local scrappy and paying a mechanic to fit the replacement engine.

Solar: Will It Ever Power Our Vehicles

Filed under: Cars, Trucks, USVs @ 1:17 am

As solar power has matured as a technology, companies have started applying it to more than just houses. Acting as an energy platform for our transport was an obvious application.

Solar: Will It Ever Power Our Vehicles

As an active technology, one of the first uses for solar power was on NASA spacecraft. Although not used for propelling the crafts, interested parties immediately started thinking about using solar power for getting us around in our daily lives. Alas, there were so many problems with the technology, including efficiency issues, that the idea never really gained much footing. With the massive popularity of hybrid vehicles, companies and research institutes are revisiting the idea.

Vehicles getting all of their energy from the sun are not a viable option at this time or for the near future. The problem is you simply can’t produce enough energy to meet the power needs. Until technology is developed to make the sunlight conversion process much more efficient, there really is not an answer to the problem. This technological advance, however, may not be far away.

Quantum dots are a form of nanotechnology that is being developed by numerous companies for solar power applications. This technology essentially tries to create tiny solar robots to convert the sunlight to energy. Millions fit within small areas and the hope is the efficiency conversion rate will go through the roof. The companies are looking to create a platform where the robots would exist in paint. Yep, the paint on your home and car may eventually produce all the energy needed.

In the meantime, solar power applications are being developed with a focus on hybrids. The basic idea is to use solar power to provide energy to the batteries powering the hybrid cars. Put another way, it is a step towards the ultimate goal. Honda does not discuss its research, but is believed to have built a facility solely for this purpose and is dumping money into it hand over foot.

The creation of viable solar vehicles is dependent on the advances of the underlying technology. Solar hybrids should be on the market relatively quickly. The big breakthrough, however, will be when viable commercial applications are developed using nanotechnology.

Auto Glass

Filed under: Cars, Trucks, USVs @ 4:04 pm

Glass in integral to the design of every vehicle. It has several functions, from being aesthetic and regal to protecting the passengers in case of accidents. Until 1929 windshields were a luxury. It was only in 1924 that the glass industry made the production of plate glass efficient enough to be used in the manufacture of cars that had become a part and parcel of the social fabric.

Auto glass is essential for safe driving, and is specially manufactured in keeping with norms outlined by the Federal Crash and Roll Over Standards. Safety glass, as auto glass is popularly known is of two kinds: Laminated and Tempered.

Laminated glass has been used for windshields in automobiles since 1927 and is manufactured by placing between two glass panes a sheet of clear plastic film, and sealing them using heat and pressure. The plastic film is what prevents the glass from shattering and causing injuries on impact. Laminated glass also blocks high frequency sound and ultraviolet radiation.

Tempered glass is strong and made by using heat and sudden cooling. When it breaks it does not shatter, but forms small pebble-like pieces that are not sharp. Normally used in the side and rear windows of automobiles, tempered glass lends great strength, as well as wind and impact resistance.

When replacing auto glass one must ensure the windshield is perfectly centered. The molding must be flat and securely fitted with no gaps. From the outside, the glass should appear to be one with the vehicle’s body.

When selecting an auto glass service, it is prudent to follow the National Glass Association guidelines. Ensure that the service provider has NGA certified technicians. Ideally they should apply the Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standard (AGRSS). Technically, the provider must use the recommended methods of installation as well as the best adhesive, urethane-based adhesive. The technician must: carry out a detailed check and note if the passenger side has an airbag; remove old sealant thoroughly; prevent any contamination of the bonding surface; and clean and prime the pinchweld before the installation of new glass. In addition, the service provider must extend the courtesy of explaining to the customer the dos and don’ts of caring for auto glass, and answer patiently any questions a customer asks.

It is auto glass that prevents a passenger from getting hurt in an accident by supporting the airbag and preventing the roof from caving in. It has vital structural functions. Since safety is of the greatest concern, always choose high-quality auto glass and ensure safe replacement.

Pink Madness

My girlfriend is a pink mentalist. She loves pink - everything in her flat is pink, from the walls to the fridge to the bedding. Mental in my opinion because its all a bit girly. She even thinks she should get a pink car, a pink bloddy car! As if there isn’t already enough pink in that girls life she thinks she needs to spill it into the used cars for sale in my world. It would perhaps not be as bad if it was a really decent car she wanted to buy but this pink monstrosity is made by a regular company that has just cottoned onto girls…pshh girls and pink cars!!!

Politically Pink

Now currently in the lime light, political parties are keen to make their mark on the world, sponsored by rich governess’s and wealthy people there are thousands of political ways to spin the news and public opinion of them. One of the big examples is the way cars, film, celebrity are all used to edit the public opinion. Some people use crazy things like pink cars to inspire belief in their systems and ideas. Some politicians don’t quite follow this “nice car” way of doing politics and instead they go for big engine used cars for sale and often choose more American or nationally accepted models over their pink mini equivalents.
