Families: Buying a Home Theater

Filed under: World Of Movies, A Life Of Leisure @ 10:33 am

The natural place for a home theater is often the living room. The problem with it is that everyone in a family loves to watch television. In fact, in many homes it is the one room that is most often used by the family. However, it is likewise obvious that everyone doesn’t always agree on what is it that should be played.

Among adults such disagreements can be readily sorted, but when the children get involved it becomes more difficult. This is why there are several things to consider, when buying a home theater system for the family.

London Films

Filed under: World Of Movies @ 7:05 pm

We all dig the cinema, so why not look at visiting our capital and stop at one or two of the places in the movie? Our capital played a part in various great memorable films and presently, for in excess of a century, it has received the foremost movie makers to engineer their motion pictures in. This metropolis is considered to be one of the earth’s most widely and recognized filming capitals. There exist central venues for filming situated around the capital; many of the most recognisable locales have been used repeatedly. Quite a few of the top film makers, both new and old, are also Londoners. Spectacular pictures have been based around our capital and also regularly receive good reviews.

This metropolis is the 3 rd most energetic movie-making spot on the planet. After L.A. and also New York, Westminster, London claims to be the dominant town with 2200 days shot in 05. As well as London’s motion pictures there is also the city’s festivals. These occur every year on approximately the same time period. These festivals are really varying, meaning there’s a festival for everyone. There are over 60 motion picture festivals around the city and such festivals express every one of the capital’s separate cultural diversities. Such film festivals vary from African to anime, crime thrillers to conspiracies and this number constantly continues to swell.

Up there with the finest considerations concerned with the city’s film arena, are the actual movie theatres themselves. Amid the second rate hellholes are some first-rate film houses which will help you to lose yourself in the movie. The city provides over 500 movie houses, which include everything from leading movie houses, for instance the Odeon & Vue, that will show the most current films and of course blockbuster hits, right over to the small scale movie theatres which feel cosy and they also show masterpieces & arty movies, often shows which would not be shown in high end movie houses.

There exist movie theatres nowadays which offer a more offbeat adventure from one’s general film houses. You rejoice in your movie in the snugness of a settee or your armchair; and you can buy snacks from the waiters. There seem to be a smattering of of these places in the capital. Roxy Bar and Screen is considered to be a pleasing screen positioned next door to the wonderful Borough Market. This spot claims to be a merging of indie movies, a cheerful bar zone and a food area. London’s Eclectic Cinema located within Kensington has shown flicks for generations and puts on a variety of cultural movies coupled with the greatest movies of average cinemas. Amid the snug leather seats, the footstools and of course its bar found in the very back, one will savour in watching absolutely any screening. Rex Cinema is located in the Soho area of London & is purportedly one of the principal places to go to. With its intimacy and their cocktails to delight in, this movie theatre claims to be a place you have to investigate. Watch this weeks top film tralors at film with Time Out.

It is constantly going to be bothersome, when deciding what flick to go and view at the movies, then again, the comfort of a good location invariably enriches the fun.

Me, Myself and fly?

Derek has been at it again - he’s getting so good at these little flash animations - something he is going to go down in history for I believe. This one is named Me, Myself and fly? and stars a very old used audi car which is trying to be sold before its owner comes home from their holiday. It guest stars a ton of people I know all with their voices representing one of the Audi’s Friends. I would rate it above most of his other pieces as being one of the funniest ones I have ever seen - the way the audi acts like you expect it would if it could talk and walk etc. He has a wiked arty way of showing everything - he even manages to poke fun at me and my car blog, featuring me as an old car owner that doesn’t appreciate any sort of car because not one of them is perfect! blooming hilarious!

Finding Nemo (DVD) Review

Filed under: World Of Movies @ 2:48 pm

Winner of the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, Finding Nemo continues the Disney tradition of producing high-quality, blockbuster films that entertain audiences of all ages. Featuring the wonders of the Pixar animation technology, the film is a breathtaking window into the future of animated pictures, with borderline 3-D visual effects and the introduction of original animated film techniques certain to influence future masterpieces. Boasting a slew of talented voiceovers such as Albert Brooks, Ellen DeGeneres, Alexander Gould, Willem Dafoe, and John Ratzenberger, Finding Nemo is certain to maintain a place in the hearts of children of all ages for generations to come…

The epic story begins somewhere in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Australia. A clown fish named Marlin (Albert Brooks) lives a wonderful life in a peaceful underwater colony of fish and other fascinating sea life with his wife. However, that serene setting is demolished when a vicious predator attacks their home, killing his wife. Distraught, Marlin takes comfort in the egg left behind which grows into his son, Nemo (Alexander Gould).

Because of this early trauma, Marlin is extremely overprotective when it comes to Nemo. He follows a step behind everywhere his son goes, makes Nemo stay in the house whenever possible, and remains quite apprehensive about his son going to school. Marlin’s fears are realized when Nemo is captured on his first day of school and taken away to live in a fish tank on land. Intent on freeing his son, Marlin sets out on a bold and daring quest to retrace the path of the abductor’s boat.

Wandering through the ocean depths, he meets up with Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) - an absent-minded, yet friendly - fish who remains determined to help her new friend recover his lost son. Together, they encounter a pack of sharks and a countless array of diverse and fascinating underwater creatures.

Meanwhile, Nemo is plunged into a dentist office fish tank overlooking Sidney Harbor where he meets a number of new and exciting friends. The other aquatic life, long confined to the tank themselves, initiate Nemo into their fraternity, revealing the history of their attempts to escape. Enlisting Nemo as their point man (or fish), they concoct a number of schemes such as clogging the tank’s filter so they can make a break for it when they’re taken out for the tank cleaning. With the threat of the dentist presenting Nemo as a present to his nerdy niece, the stakes are raised for our young hero and time is of the essence…

Sporting one of the best written animated screenplays of all-time and a breathtaking original score by Thomas Newman, Finding Nemo is a pleasurable affair for both parents and children. The writers pull off an admirable job of combining adult and kid humor throughout the script in such a way that it doesn’t detract from the experience for either age group. With a number of likeable characters, the audience will find itself rooting for Marlin, Nemo, and all their friends to accomplish the task before them. Overall, this is a must-see film for all age groups, not only because of the great story and artful performances, but if anything, simply because the animation is a wonder in-and-of itself…

Star Wars Vs Wade

What’s bigger in your opinion? Star Wars Collectables - Now theres a big market you might think, lots of geeks wanting to buy plastic figures, posters and other star wars collectables, but its pretty mad - Even if you just focus on the star wars collectable figures theres probably over 5000 available. So to collect them all you would be searching for ages.

Wade figurines on the other hand is a much more skilled search, there’s not so many of them - no where near 5000 models available, and wade figurines are more expensive and better made. Whereas star wars is a youth - wade is a quality old man - telling you nice stories about yesteryear! Which do you think is more popular? According to the bay its the latter but I suppose we will wait and see!

Anime Takes Hold in the US

Filed under: News Of The World, World Of Movies, Kids Stuff @ 9:27 pm

The world of anime - well it was only so in Japan. Now in the US, and spreading rapidly throughout the world, we are seeing anime fans pop up out of the woodwork. In the US, it’s taking off like no other country. This popular Japanese cartoon is now shown on Cartoon Network weekly with the current series being Storm Hawks. Other popular series include Bleach, Naruto, Dragon Ball and Gundam.

Anime dates back to the 20th century where the Japanese were experimenting with animation of characters. Whilst it’s only a new form of entertainment, nowadays it’s very common to see office workers commuting each day on the train reading their favourite manga (cartoons). Manga and anime have similar stories and characters, however one form is for the TV and the other for books. Known in the west as Cartoons and Comics.

Only in the 1980’s was anime accepted into mainstream Japan.
