Diecast Diecast Dave

Dave my mate is an avid colletor of diecast cars - he has so many now its almost silly - I go round his house to play ps2 and all I get is “wait a minute I am just going to move my diecast bugatti over there” or “wait thats a priceless diecast dude” - he is quite a moaner - Sometimes I feel like throwing them all away for him so he can get a life - because diecast toy cars are no life for an 18 year old - he should be doing fun stuff like driving a bugatti - not owning a little metal model of it thats badly painted by some chinese slave labour?

Child Murals - How They Can Turn An Ordinary Bedroom Into A Paradise

Filed under: Home Improvement & More, Kids Stuff @ 1:36 pm

There is nothing more exciting and captivating to both kids and adults as a child mural on a bedroom wall. These wall murals can take you into a whole new fantasy world filled with fun and happiness.

While you can always paint a room or put up some colorful wallpaper it just doesn’t have the same effect as a mural. And regardless if you choose a horse mural, tropical mural, or any other design, having a mural is not nearly as difficult as you may think.

There are several options including:

-Hire it done by an artist/painter. While this is the more expensive route to go, you’ll be assured of having a wonderful child mural for years to come.

-Do it yourself. Did you know it has never been easier to make your own kid’s mural? You can find templates and paint by number murals in just about any style you can come up with. Even if you have difficulty drawing a straight line you can do this because of how simple they have made them.

Construction Bedding is Popular for Boy’s Bedrooms

Let’s face it – most little boys love dirt, trucks, and watching construction. That is why adding construction bedding to his room is a great idea. He’ll play with his Tonka truck in the sandbox during the day, and at night when it’s time to sleep he can get cozy in his construction zone quilt.

Any little boy who loves to build and watch big trucks move dirt around would be thrilled with this quilt. It has all the colors boys love as well as dump trucks, shovels, and front loaders to have him dreaming of tomorrow’s dirt! The perfect construction bedding for your little dirt-hound can be found at threelittlehouses.com.

3 Things to Think About when Decorating a Toddler’s Bedroom

Maybe your son has escaped form his crib one too many times. Or perhaps you need to get your daughter out of the crib to make way for the new baby. In any event, your baby is growing up and ready for their “big kid bedroom”. Here are three things to think about when making the big move:

Placing furniture near windows. Take into consideration the height of the windows and placement of furniture as you redecorate the bedroom. Babies turn into little climbers as they grow, and a small bookcase near an open window can lead to disaster. By all means open the window and let in the sweet spring breeze, but make sure that there is no way your child can access an open window, especially if their room is above the first floor.

Storage. Little people need storage that is low to the ground. To allow your child to learn to put away their toys starting at a young age, make sure the storage areas are easily accessible. Use two-foot high shelving with plastic bins that can easily be removed. I recommend putting labels on each bin with pictures and words so that your child understands the concept of categorizing toys to be put in certain bins. This will develop good organization skills as well as word recognition.

The bed. The question arises whether to get a twin bed, or to go for a toddler bed. This all depends on your budget and what will be most comfortable for your child. With the twin bed, although it is higher off the ground, you can attach bed rails that will give you peace of mind as your toddler tosses and turns at night. Also keep in mind that your little one may have trouble getting in and out of that big tall bed, so you may want to invest in a good sturdy step stool.

The toddler bed uses a standard crib mattress, has built-in rails, and is lower to the ground, so your little one may feel more secure. Also, toddler beds come in so many fun colors and styles, so if your child is hesitant about giving up the crib, he or she may get excited when they find that they get to sleep in a fire truck bed or a fairy princess bed. And don’t forget about all the awesome kids bedding available as well!

Kids Bedding Sets the Tone for the Rest of the Bedroom

In the world of interior design, there is one room of the house that is outrageously fun to decorate. I am speaking, of course, about children’s bedrooms. Where else in the house can you go crazy with color and theme? The children’s décor market is bursting with ideas and products that will have you wanting to have more babies if only just for the fun and colorful atmosphere that you can create.

When I decorated my little girls’ rooms, I started by selecting quilted cotton bedding in beautiful bright colors. That set the tone for the rest of the room: I used the quilt as a basis it to pick colors for the walls, rug, and artwork. I like to stick to white cottage-style furniture for its crisp, fresh feeling, but in a boy’s bedroom you would want to go with stained wood or maybe a painted bedroom set.

Whether you have a boy or a girl, the possibilities are endless as far as theme, style and color. If you are not confident in your decorating skills you can pick up ideas from magazines, the internet, or decorating shows. If you don’t know where to begin, simply find a colorful piece of art or kid’s bedding that you and your child love, then just pull your inspiration from there. The most important thing is to have fun creating a comfortable, cozy and inspiring bedroom that your child will enjoy for years to come.
